How to do your make-up step by step

  1. Prep the skin

    • Cleanse if you need to, then apply a lightweight moisturizer. Let it absorb for 30–60 seconds.

    • If you’re going outside, use SPF (or a moisturizer with SPF). Good prep = makeup that sits better.

  2. Prime / smooth (optional)

    • If you have visible texture or oily T-zone, lightly apply a mattifying primer where needed. If not, skip — a little glow is lovely.

  3. Base — tinted moisturizer / foundation

    • Use a tinted moisturizer, BB cream, or light foundation. Dot on forehead, cheeks, nose, chin.

    • Blend with fingers for sheer coverage or a damp sponge for skin-like finish. Keep coverage thin — you can always add concealer.

  4. Conceal - use wisely

    • Under eyes: apply in a small dot under the eye next to nose and line other side of the under eye (brightens + lifts).

    • Blemishes: dot concealer only on the spot and blend edges. Use a small brush or fingertip to pat — avoid rubbing.

  5. Brows — frame the face

    • Brush brows up with a spoolie, fill sparse areas with light, hair-like strokes from the middle to the tail.

    • Finish by brushing through again with a spoolie or clear brow gel.

  6. Eyes — simple, flattering wash

    • Sweep a neutral, mid-tone shade across the lid and slightly into the crease using a soft blending brush.

    • Optional: use a slightly deeper shade at the outer corner for subtle dimension. No sharp lines — just blended.

  7. Eyeliner (optional)

    • For an everyday lift: tightline the upper waterline with a pencil, or apply a thin line close to lashes. Smudge slightly for a softer, lived-in look.

  8. Mascara

    • Wiggle the wand at the base of lashes and sweep upward. Apply one or two coats depending on desired effect. Lower lashes: a light touch only.

  9. Cheeks — cream or powder

    • Cream blush gives a fresh, dewy look: tap onto the apples of your cheeks and blend back toward the temple with fingers.

    • Powder blush/bronzer: apply sparingly to warm the face — temple, cheekbones, jawline. Build slowly.

  10. Highlight (optional)

    • Use a small amount of cream highlighter on top of cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and cupid’s bow for natural radiance.

  11. Lips

    • Start with a balm if lips are dry. Add a tinted balm, cream lipstick, or gloss. For longer wear, blot and reapply.

  12. Set & finish

    • If you’re oily, lightly dust translucent powder on the T-zone only.

    • For movement and glow, finish with a light mist of setting spray. Give it a gentle 3–4 second spray from arm’s length.
